Fall

I am having the biggest problem transferring on my own. So much so that I plopped right onto the end table near my chair while trying to transfer today. I am fine, and the table held me up, but I am frustrated, we are talking 90 degrees. I couldn't even make a 90 degree turn using my walker to help me. I know my legs are strong enough...but my dang knee just gave out.

  1. Oh sweet daughter, my heart aches for you. I so wish you and family were closer, where friends and family could hold you up and fill some of the gaps. The weather itself would warm your very being, to be able to sit in the sunshine and feel it in your face. Please know that you are very much loved and prayed for every day. Please ler God into your heart again and allow Him to heal you throughout your body and soul. I am so sorry for anything I have done or said to cause you pain, frustration or anger. Please forgive me and share your life and family again. Life truly IS far too short. We are not guaranteed any tomorrow's.

  2. Youch! As my friend would ask, You OK? REALLY?

If it is any comfort, my knee didn't start giving out until I put more balance and weight on that side. As recently as at the start of the drug study (just after 1-year mark) I looked like a robot, wearing braces on my more effected knee, ankle and wrist! They took those all away from me at the start of the study and I was kind of panicky for a couple weeks without the added support, even considered wearing them again after the study, but now I don't miss at all and my knee rarely gives out on me anymore. Freaky feeling when it doesn't support you though! I had to read labels and go more expensive because of the latex issue, but if S. can check at WalMart, he might be able to find a simple Ace brand (or something like it) bandage that just is one solid piece and either slips up, over your knee or Velcro on. Mine gave a surprising amount of support whenever my knee just simply forgot to support me!
