Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Today, I read a blog post that made my heart cry out in pain. It was on a blog I have been enjoying recently. The author provides the link to the blog of a family that lost their beautiful 4 year old boy. He looked a lot like my own 3 yr old Prince Charming, and my momma heart could hardly beat for a moment as I looked at the picture of his family, trying to grasp the depth of their loss.
Lately, I have been bombarded with the reality that life is so fragile, and can be lost in an instant, without any reason. Please join me in prayer for the family of Josiah.
The reason I am posting this is to encourage myself and others, especially my friends with children, that no matter how stinky the day may be, how terribly the children may behave...to take a moment and thank God for that single day, for that moment, for the fact that in that moment, all your children are safe in your arms...because we just don't know what day they will be called home to Jesus.
We are having a stinky day today...a really stinky one. I am trying right this moment to pause, praise the Lord for this day, and find a moment to "rejoice in it". Why? Because I am not promised that tomorrow will be here. So, I will choose to "rejoice" in the fact that it is simply a day of life.
